Arrowhead of agitations for a Yoruba Nation, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as ‘Sunday Igboho’, was prevented from being extradited to Nigeria on Monday night by Yoruba people in Cotonou.
This was disclosed by His lawyer, Mr Yomi Aliyu, via a radio talk programme on Rave FM, ‘Frank Talk’, on Wednesday.
According to Aliyu, Igboho had boarded a plane that was set to fly to Germany when he was fingered by a passenger who said he was a wanted man.
Continuing, Aliyu said that the activist was brought down with the wife and brother, following which a row ensued consequent to attempts to fly him to Nigeria by a standby Helicopter, which attracted the attention of some Yoruba who came to their rescue.
