Gov Ortom’s Aide On Special Security, Ex-AIG Christopher Dega, Assassinated

By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Senior Special Assistant on Special Security to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dega Chris, has been assassinated by gunmen in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

News of the gruesome murder was confirmed by the Plateau State Police Command, which noted that it occurred on Monday night a few minutes after the victim arrived in Jos.

According to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Edward Egbuka, preliminary investigations revealed that the Retired Assistant Commissioner, who left Makurdi was trailed to Jos where he was shot in the chest several times until he bled to death.

Egbuka revealed that the incident occurred at Anguldi area of Bukuru in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State at about 8:30 pm on Monday. The late senior cop, who had, prior to his retirement from the police, served as Commissioner of police in Borno and Edo states, hailed from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State
