FG Inaugurates New NSITF Board

By Nkoli Opara (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has declared that looting of public funds without a single voucher in the Nigeria Insurance Trust Fund is now a thing of the past.

Ngige, who made this assertion during the inauguration of the NSITF’s newly reconstituted Management Board on Tuesday in Abuja,  pointed out that there was a marked difference in the structural makeup of the new board,  which is projected towards assuaging the expectations of assured delivery of objectives.

Recall that on July 1, 2020, President Muhammadu Buhari, gave the nod for the suspension of the former Managing Director, three Executive Directors and nine other senior management officers of the NSITF. The panel, which investigated the established 126 prima facie infractions on the extant Financial Regulations and Procurement Act and other acts of gross misconduct against them, recommended the removal of the suspended officers.
