Sea Incursion: NEMA Distributes Relief Materials To Over 5000 Victims In Ondo community


=== (AGENDAWATCHDOG) === Relief materials worth millions of naira have been distributed to victims displaced by sea incursion in the riverine community of Aiyetoro, in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

According to the Director-General of NEMA, retired AVM Muhammadu Muhammed, represented by Head of Ekiti Operations, Mr Olusegun Afolayan, while speaking at Igbokoda, said that the materials were palliatives for the victims of the natural disaster, adding that the emergency challenge called for concerted efforts.

Items distributed include Mattresses, bedsheets, roofing sheets, groundnut oil, provisions, foodstuff, cements and other items.

The D-G implore the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the materials, promising to continue to respond to severe emergency calls despite the paucity of funds in the country.

Responding on behalf of beneficiaries, Chief Iwasanmi Ajijo, lauded the Federal government for bringing succour to the people in such a critical time, pledging that the materials would be put to good use.

PROJECTED IMPACT: The relief materials would go a long way to mitigate the effects of the natural disaster on the people
