Emir Of Kontagora’s Son Killed By Bandits


By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Eldest son of the Emir of Kontagora, Bashir Namaska, has been killed by armed bandits at his father’s farm at Masuga village along the Kontagora-Rijau Road in Niger State.

The deceased was the Sardauna of Kontagora, a position he was holding in his father, the Sarkin Sudan’s stead, before the sad incident. His father is said to have been sick for some months.According to sources, the late Emir’s son was shot by the bandits on Thursday and rushed to the hospital where he gave up the ghost on arrival.

Some other persons out of the town in the north-central region of the country were reportedly abducted by the rampaging bandits.

Expressing his condolences to the Emir, his family and people of Kontagora Emirate on the sad incident, Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, prayed to God to forgive all the shortcomings of the late prince and give his father, the people of the emirate, and his close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

Born in 1979, late Bashir served Kontagora Emirate in many capacities, among which were the District Head of Kontagora I and Sardaunan Kontagora, the positions he held until his demise.
