Igbo Are Builders, Not Destroyers – Ohanaeze Ndigbo To Sanwo-Olu

By Nkoli Opara (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to discountenance trending rumours that members of the secessionist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were planning to attack the state.

This was stated by the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ambassador George Obiozor, on Thursday during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House in Marina, referring to such insinuations as attempts to distract the governor from the task of delivering the dividends of democracy to Lagosians, and a ploy to set Igbos and Yorubas against one another.

Speaking further, Obiozor emphasized that Igbo will not jeopardize the harmonious relations between them and Yoruba people in Lagos State,  which he referred to as the second home of several people from the South East geopolitical zone, adding that the Igbo people were known to be builders and not destroyers.

Responding, Governor Sanwo-Olu assured the Ohanaeze Ndigbo of his administration’s commitment to democratic governance and the provision of security for residents of the state and their property.
