By Vanessa Ekpereka (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Tyson Fury sent out an emotional message to life-long friend Billy Joe Saunders, who is fighting to save his career in hospital after his defeat to Canelo Alvarez on Saturday.
British boxer Saunders was caught by a powerful right uppercut from the Mexican in the eighth round that fractured his eye socket, with the 31-year-old’s team throwing in the towel while he was sitting on his stool between rounds.
Saunders was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery on his eye on Sunday afternoon, but the Gypsy King has paid tribute to the man he has been close friends with since they were teenagers on social media.

Fury tweeted on Sunday: ‘People love to hate on others willing to chase their dreams.
‘Tried to be great last night (Saturday)! It wasn’t his night but at least he had the bottle to follow his dreams and heart.
‘He will always be my bro with sunglasses, we go back to 15/16, what a night to remember in #30years Dallas.’
There is serious concern over Saunders’ immediate future in boxing, with the Briton still receiving treatment in Dallas over his injured eye after Saturday night’s fight with Canelo, who won the WBO super-middleweight title.
