As part of measures aimed at preventing the spread of deadly strains of COVID-19 in the country, the Federal Government on Monday extended its work-from-home directive for civil servants on Grade Level 12 and below. According to the Presidential Steering Committee On COVID-19 domiciled in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, civil servants will continue to work from home till June 11, 2021, after which the directive may be review

2=.The Edo State Police Command has killed three suspected kidnappers and rescued seven abducted victims in the state. According to a statement issued on Monday by the police spokesman in the state, SP Kontongs Bello, the victims were rescued after security operatives combed the Ahor forest along Benin-Auchi Expressway, Benin City.

3=.Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says his government would relaunch the Lagos State Residents Card, to ensure that the records of Lagos residents are in the state’s database. The governor made this statement during a meeting with the state’s stakeholders on security matters held on Monday at Ikeja.

4-.Twelve Muslim worshippers have been abducted by bandits while observing Tahajjud at a mosque located in the outskirt of Jibiya town of Katsina State. Tahajjud is a midnight prayer that is being observed during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

5=.The Federal Government has declared Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Mr Rauf Aregbesola, who is the Minister of Interior, made the declaration on Monday in Abuja on behalf of the government.

8=.The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is demanding the investigation, prosecution, and immediate sack of Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the suspended Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala Usman, over alleged mismanagement of over N165billions in the agency. The party also claimed that the wife of the Minister of Transportation, Mrs. Edith Amaechi is involved in an N48 billion contract scam in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

9=.Alan Shearer wants Harry Kane to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer to fulfil his ambition of winning trophies at club level. Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer, has likened the circumstanced involving his move from Blackburn Rovers to Newcastle United to those facing Kane and has urged the 27-year-old to leave Tottenham in his quest to lift silverware.

10=.At least seven people have been killed and several injured in a shooting at a school in southwest Russia, according to reports.The RIA news agency said an explosion was heard at the school in the city of Kazan and a gunman has been detained by police.
