Wike: Rivers State Will Not Be Cowed Into Secessionist Agenda

By Nkoli Opara (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Fiery Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has declared that his state will not succumb to any secessionist agenda, just as he slammed the recent killing of seven police personnel by unknown gunmen.

Wike spoke via a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, following an emergency meeting of the Security Council at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Saturday.

While calling for calm, the governor, who chaired the meeting, slammed recent attacks on some police facilities in the state by armed men, reaffirming his administration’s resolve not to succumb to any secessionist agenda, despite the resort to violence by some individuals bent on throwing the whole country into chaos.

Wike condoled with the bereaved families of the officers of the Rivers State Police Command who lost their lives in the line of duty.
