Anambra Airport Flags Off Maiden Flight


=== (AGENDAWATCHDOG) === The newly constructed Anambra International Cargo Airport, Umueri, has flagged of its maiden flight.

Two aircraft; Boeing 737 mark N5,-BUJ, and Embraer 145, both owned by Air Peace Airline landed by 2.26 pm and 2.46 pm respectively on the tarmac of the airport constructed by  the Anambra State Government, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State, while addressing the people of the state, the project was executed without any loan facility, adding that the project began in December 2020, and the landing and other facilities were achieved within 15 months, despite the ravaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy.

Speaking further, Obiano said that the facilities already completed such as runway, control tower, and lighting system, were the best in Africa.
