1=.The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami on Monday said any moment from now, Nigeria expects the return of £4.2million seized from the associates of convicted former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori. The AGF also said the Federal Government of Nigeria is working tirelessly to ensure the return of looted Nigerian assets kept outside the country’s territorial boundaries.

2=.An attack by Boko Haram terrorists has left some residents killed in Ajiri town in Borno State, north-east Nigeria. The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, confirmed the attack on the town in a statement on Monday, but he did not give the actual number of locals killed by the terrorists.

3=.Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have arrested four suspects in connection with the abduction and subsequent killing of a six-year-old boy. The suspects were alleged to have killed their victim after collecting one million naira as ransom from his father, Kabiru Magayaki.

4=.Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has promised that the government will ensure the killer of Miss Iniubong Umoren does not go unpunished. He made the promise on Monday when he led some members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

5=.The Kogi State Government has confirmed the killing of the Pension Board Commissioner, Solomon Adebayo by gunmen. The government in a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the slain commissioner was coming back to the state from neighbouring Kwara alongside the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Pius Kolawole.

6=.At least 13 persons have been feared killed following an attack by armed herders in Tse-Amgbem community close to Aondoana in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State. According to local residents, the attackers burnt down the houses in the community in the early Monday morning attack.

7=.The Bauchi State Government has placed four Local Government Areas in the state on high-security alert. Briefing journalists after an emergency Security Council meeting on Monday, the Secretary to the State Government, Sabi’u Baba identified the local councils as Zaki, Dambam, Darazo and Gamawa.

8=.Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu-nationalist party suffered a setback on Sunday when it lost a fiercely contested state poll. Over the past month India held its biggest democratic exercise in two years, with 175 million people eligible to vote in five regional elections.

9=.The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has challenged athletes representing Nigeria at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to give their best to the country. He made the call on Monday when he visited the athletes who have been training at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

10=.The UK said Sunday it was sending an extra 1,000 oxygen ventilators to Covid-struck India, as a group of doctors staged their own intervention by offering long-distance telemedicine from Britain. Britain has already sent 495 oxygen concentrators and 200 ventilators to India as the country grapples with a devastating surge in coronavirus cases, and is shipping three larger production units, dubbed oxygen factories.
