Nasarawa State, Rice Farmers To Request For N10bn Loan From CBN

=== (AGENDAWATCHDOG === Plans are in the pipeline by the Nasarawa State Government and the Rice Farmers Association to seek for N10 billion investment under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Anchor Borrowers Programme.

This was disclosed by the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, during the launch of the sales of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs, for this year’s raining season, at Andaha, in Akwanga Local Government Area.

According to Sule, the fund is meant to assist rice farmers across the 13 local government areas of the state. He reiterated the determination of his administration to ensure that agricultural potentials of the state are fully harnessed for the overall benefit of the people.

In his words: “I am happy to inform you that the Government has already concluded plans in collaboration with the Rice Farmers Association to attract investment of a sum of N10 billion to assist rice farmers in the State under the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers Programme.

PROJECTED IMPACT: The fund will no doubt help boost the production capacities of the farmers in the 13 LGAs of the state, making more food available for the consumption of the local populace and distribution to other parts of the country.
