=== (AGENDAWATCHDOG) === Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury could be the boxing bout of the decade if the fight is finally agreed for the summer of 2021.
Joshua’s camp claim the fight for all four heavyweight titles is to take place in Saudi Arabia later this summer, although no firm date has been announced.
Fury will put his WBC belt on the line, while Joshua holds the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.
And amid all the talk and bravado from both camps about purse splits and rematches, experts and ex-pros aren’t shy on offering up their predictions for what will happen once Joshua and Fury finally go glove-to-glove.
Frank Bruno is the latest to deliver his prediction and believes experience will weigh in Fury’s favour. Here are the Joshua Vs Fury fight predictions from some of the sport’s leading figures…
“My money is going to go on Tyson Fury. He’s a much more experienced guy than Anthony Joshua,” Bruno told the Don’t’ Tell Me The Scorepodcast.
“Anthony Joshua has still got a lot to learn. He’s very game, he is very tough and he trains very well… but I think Tyson Fury will take him to the cleaners.
“He’ll take him to the cleaners and take his pants down and smack him. Seriously… he’s going to school him!”
“It’s very interesting, Joshua is a masterful puncher. But you can see his punches coming, he telegraphs his punches.
“And that’s just a recipe for disaster if you’re fighting Tyson Fury and you’re telegraphing your punches – to a guy who’s 6ft 7in, come on.”
“It’s hard to go against Tyson Fury. I mean, AJ boxed really well when he won his titles back [against Andy Ruiz Jr].
“But it is hard to look past Tyson Fury; he can stand there toe-to-toe and have it out with you, he’s very good defensively, he’s got a great jab and great hand speed.
“I think he ticks the boxes in all areas. But how can you go against AJ? He’s got all the belts; he’s a good boxer and a good dig. On any one night in the heavyweight division anything can happen, but I just go with Tyson.”
“Joshua is a superior athlete, great fighter, Olympic champion.
“Most importantly, he’s a great guy, who carries the torch of this image of a heavyweight champion perfectly. I’m proud to call him as a friend, even though we were [rivals].
“And I think and I wish that eventually Joshua is going to unify all of the belts. That’s the eventual plan.”
“I think when it comes to technique and being technical, and then you have Fury by a mile.
“I think AJ has to go in there and go for the kill.
“He [Joshua] might be stronger, and he might be the harder hitter, but he has to go in there hoping he’ll win the fight.”
“They will walk away. Instead of working it out, their way of working out is walking away, and they use the media to get to get things over the line, to maybe try to put pressure on the other side.
“I’ve never seen a fight promotion so public as with this particular one.
“Normally, it might when it comes to me, it happens behind closed doors. You have your lawyers, you have a big round table, you get everybody in one room and you thrash it out. You go in there and you make it happen.”
