The tournament which provides a good platform to test the home-based players will be contested by states and clubs across the country in 12 events, including veterans who are above 50 years.

7=.A locomotive train carrying water pipes from Lagos State to Zaria in Kaduna State has derailed in the state capital. The accident which occurred around the Ungwar Kanawa area of Kaduna forced the head of the locomotive to derail from the rail track, thereby leading to five of the coaches to derail.

8=.The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps has appealed to the residents of Okitipupa to remain calm following the report of apprehension over a purported security threat in the town after 42 men from Jigawa and Kano states were apprehended. The Commander of the corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made the plea on Sunday while briefing reporters in Akure, the state capital.

9=.The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Essien Udim Local Government Area has been gutted by fire. INEC Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, confirmed the incident to Channels Television via a statement issued on Sunday.

10=.The military junta that took power in Chad last month after the shock death of veteran leader Idriss Deby Itno named a transition government on Sunday, the army spokesman said. The so-called Transitional Military Council (CMT) had pledged to restore democracy to the poor Sahel country within 18 months after what the opposition condemned as an “institutional coup”.
