FG Inaugurates Digital Switch-Over In Lagos


=== (AGENDAWATCHDOG) ===The Digital Switch-Over (DSO), a switch from analog television to digital television, was recently launched in Lagos State by the federal government at Ikeja, Lagos.

Thursday’s launch marked the commencement of the second phase of the rollout of DSO across the country, following the rollout of the first phase in Jos, Abuja, Ilorin, Kaduna, Enugu, and Osogbo between April 2016 and February 2018.

The DSO was delivered with the brand name ‘FreeTV,’ which signifies the transition from analog to digital television across the federation.

Making his remarks at the Lagos DSO flag off, Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, the DSO train took over three years to arrive in Lagos State, adding that the success of the project was made possible via the collaborative efforts of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the Digiteam, Broadcast Signal Distributors, Set-Top-Box Manufacturers, the Middleware providers -Inview and Renmore -, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON),creative content producers and members of the Ministerial Task Force on DSO, chaired by him.

The signals distributors for FreeTV across the country are the Integrated Television Services (ITS) and Pinnacle.
