FG Raises Alarm On Fake COVID-19 Vaccines In Circulation

By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Consequent to warnings by international police organisations, the federal government has alerted Nigerians on the circulation of fake COVID-19 vaccines, stressing that it would not accept vaccines from private and unverified sources.

This was made known by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, on Monday, while making his remarks at the weekly press briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, where he also said that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, was currently working on procedures for testing and authorizing more vaccines for use in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Monday night, confirmed 37 fresh cases of COVID-19 in six states, taking total caseload of the virus to 164,756, with 2,062 fatalities, while about 154,963 have been successfully treated and discharged.
