New IGP’s Hometown In Yobe Attacked By Insurgents


By Olivia isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, attacked Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, the home town of the new acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba on Friday.

The town previously came under attack on February 9, after the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, visited the troops stationed there.

Casualty figures from the attacks were yet to be confirmed as at the time of compiling this report.

The insurgents have, meanwhile, circulated a pamphlet, urging residents to support their cause to establish an Islamic caliphate or be killed.

News sources say a military jet has been deployed to the town to dislodge the insurgents.
