President Buhari: President Deby’s Death A Crucial Setback In The War Against Insurgency


By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following the demise of Chadian President, Idris Derby, President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, lamented that “a big vacuum” had been created  in the war on insurgency.

Buhari’s lamentations were contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

The late Idris Deby, who had just been proclaimed the winner of a presidential election that had elected him for a sixth stint in office, died from wounds sustained while leading an assault  against insurgents in the north of the Sahel country, as disclosed by the Chadian army earlier on Tuesday.

Prior to his demise, the late Deby had played a very crucial role in the regional joint collaboration against the Boko Haram insurgents.
