By Lucky Uwakina (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s £100m undisputed world title fight has taken a huge step towards being finalised after they both approved a site offer to stage it this summer.
Britain’s heavyweight champions had been mulling over multiple offers from several countries bidding to host their blockbuster fight, and Eddie Hearn has now revealed they have settled on a location. All that remains now for Fury and Joshua’s Battle of Britain to be confirmed is a date, and Hearn insisted an announcement is now imminent after holding a brief meeting with the Gypsy King over a ‘cuppa’ earlier this week.
Revealing the huge news, Eddie Hearn told Behind The Gloves: ‘Both sides have approved the site offer that they want to go with, and now we’re just finalising the site deal and we’re in a great place.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Russia, America, Singapore, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and England have all been in the running to stage Joshua and Fury’s showdown, which will determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in the early 2000s.
