1-.The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has asked the Federal Government to reopen the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State. Ado-Doguwa, who represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada constituency in the House, made the appeal while leading other lawmakers to inspect the airport on Sunday.

2-.A suspected notorious kidnapper, Iskilu Wakili, has been arrested in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State. Wakili, who was arrested on Sunday is said to be responsible for a series of kidnappings and killings in the state.

3-.Troops of the Nigerian military have killed several bandits during aerial missions conducted over locations in Chikun and Birnin Gwari local government areas. According to operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, the air platforms conducted armed reconnaissance over Gwagwada, Chikun, Kuduru, Chukuba, Erina, Kushaka, Dogon Gona, Kusasu, Sarkin Pawa, Kurebe and Falleli around the Kaduna-Niger interstate boundaries.

4-.Atletico Madrid squandered the chance to inflict a heavy blow on Real Madrid’s La Liga title hopes on Sunday as Karim Benzema’s late equaliser earned the champions a 1-1 draw and kept them in the race at the top. Luis Suarez’s flicked finish early in the first half looked to be enough to give Atletico a crucial win that would have put them eight points clear of their opponents, with a game in hand. But they failed to make their authority count and Benzema punished them in the 88th minute, his goal earning Real Madrid a draw that ensures the gap between the two city rivals stays at five points.

5-.The Zamfara State Governor Dr. Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun), has reshuffled his cabinet with the redeployment of three commissioners and assigning portfolio to two other newly inaugurated commissioners who took the oath of office at council chamber Gusau on Friday. In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alhaji Bala Bello Mary, said the reshuffled cabinet is with immediate effect.

6-.Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Friday, March 5, 2021, convicted one Henry Mfon Asuquo, on a two-count charge bordering on impersonation, cybercrime, and fraud. The convict was arrested by the Uyo zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on January 3, 2019, at Ayara Street, Nungu Uko in Ibesikpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, following a petition by one Itoro Tom alleging that the convict swapped her Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card, and fraudulently withdrew N700, 000 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira) from her account domiciled at First City Monument Bank, FCMB.

7-.Manchester United on Sunday ended neighbours, Manchester City’s 21-game winning streak, beating them 0-2 at the Etihad Stadium.  Bruno Fernandes’s spot-kick and a strike from Luke Shaw ensured United moved back into second place on the Premier League log, 11 points behind runaway leaders City.

8-.Ethiopia on Sunday received its first 2.2 million doses of vaccine against the coronavirus, and officials in Africa’s second most populous country said the first jabs would be administered in the coming days. The doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, were allocated under the UN-led Covax initiative which is working to facilitate vaccine access for poorer countries.

9-.Three Palestinian fishermen were killed Sunday when their boat exploded off Gaza’s coast in the Mediterranean Sea, the fishermen’s union said, with the cause of the blast unknown. Israel’s army said it was “not responsible for the incident”.

10-.Mario Lemina condemned troubled Liverpool to a sixth successive home defeat as Fulham earned a shock 1-0 win that left the champions’ top four bid in turmoil on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp’s side are four points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, who can extend that lead to seven if they beat Everton on Monday.
