‘No-Fly Zone’: Strategy By APC To Undemocratically Take Over Zamfara – PDP

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – According to the former ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), there is a mischievous design by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in cohorts with the central government, to undemocratically assume the governance of Zamfara state through the imposition of a concocted “No-Fly Zone”.

This was contained in a communiqué released by the PDP on Wednesday, in which it slammed the purported attempt by some elements in the ruling party to undermine the democratic order in Zamfara state by blaming the state government, under Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, for the inability of the APC-led federal government to check insecurity in the state.

The PDP warned that any attempt by the APC-FG alliance to impose a state of emergency and derail democratic order in Zamfara state, as a means to forcefully take over the state, will trigger a national crisis that would worsen the already tensed situation, derailing the nation’s democracy, and threatening its corporate existence as a country.

PDP called on Governor Matawalle to remain strong and focused at this critical time, urging the people of Zamfara state to remain calm and continue to cooperate with the security forces, under the democratic order, as they intensify efforts to rid the state and the country of these vicious outlaws.
