COVID-19 Vaccination: FG Flags Off National Strategy For Effective Exercise

By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – As the country looks ahead to the receipt of its first tranche of the COVAX vaccines, the Federal Government is rolling out a special COVID-19 vaccination strategy.

The strategy codenamed ‘T.E.A.C.H’ was launched at an event in Abuja on Monday, by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, who explained that it would help the government to track the vaccination process across the country, and generate a rich electronic database of all eligible citizens for vaccination.

Ehanire assured that the vaccination, which would be safe and effective, was a critical part of Nigeria’s strategy to counter the COVID-19 pandemic and stop the further spread of the virus.

The minister described T.E.A.C.H as an acronym for a five-point strategy developed by the vaccination implementation arm of the Ministry of Health and National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) following many years of vaccination implementation experience in Nigeria.

The minister commended the NPHCDA under the leadership of Dr Faisal Shuaib and his hardworking team whom he said developed a home-grown strategy to deliver the vaccine.

Boss Mustapha, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, had announced that Nigeria would soon receive its first tranche of the COVID-19 vaccine.
