By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Former Senate Majority leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the 11.53 kilometers Agbonchai-Afam road, connecting Eleme and Oyigbo Local Government Areas, described the South-South, particularly Rivers State, as the country’s economic pillar.
According to Ndume, Nigeria was lucky to have the South-South, particularly Rivers State as one of its constituent units, adding that without the contributions of Rivers State, Nigeria wouldn’t have had a strong economic base.

“Nigeria is lucky to have not only Rivers State but Rivers people. South-South, particularly the Rivers people are the great people of Nigeria. What you’re giving to this country; if Rivers is not there, Nigeria will not be there”, he intoned commisioning the project o Wednesday.
