Kaduna Govt To Empower Businesswomen With N200m In January


(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Business women who operate small businesses in Kaduna State will be beneficiaries of a N200m largesse courtesy the state government in January, 2021, consequent to the success recorded in the first phase of the N200 million disbursed to some business operators.

According to the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, who was speaking with newsmen, the planned disbursement was part of the Governor Nasir El-Rufai led administration’s commitment to empowering the poor and vulnerable women in the state, adding that more women had already been assisted in opening bank accounts for the first time, while some were assisted to get their bank verification number (BVN) for financial transactions.

PROJECTED IMPACT: With this development, Kaduna State may be fulfilling part of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action of 1995 (Beijing Platform for Action) which was seen as the most visionary agenda for the empowerment of women and girls in the State.
