Oleh-Ozoro Land Dispute: Okowa Inaugurates 7-Man Judicial Panel Of Inquiry

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – As part of his peace building measures, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa recently inaugurated a 7-person Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the land dispute between Oleh and Ozoro communities in Delta State.

Okowa, during the swearing-in of the panel, which has Justice Marcel Okoh as its Chairman, stated that the panel is mandated to determine the remote and immediate causes of the conflict between the parties in Oleh and Ozoro communities.

In his words, “The setting up of this panel of enquiry is to prevent a full-blown communal conflict and also because peace-building is a cardinal programme of this administration — and development cannot take place in the absence of peace” .
