COVID-19 Second Wave: Fresh Preventive Restrictions Released By FG


By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Due to the onset of the second wave of COVID-19, the federal government has approved fresh measures to check the further spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

This was disclosed by the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, during a press briefing of the task force in Abuja, where he ordered the closure of all clubs, bars and restaurants, alongside the restriction of the number of guests at weddings, conference to 59, while gatherings linked to religious events should be less than 50% capacity of the facility.

According to Mustapha, President  Muhammadu Buhari, had authorised the PTF to engage with the states and the FCT to assume full ownership of this stage of the response by deploying legal structures and resources, including enforcement to manage the pandemic within their jurisdictions, as new strain of Coronavirus hits the country.

The measure will be for the next five weeks as Nigeria hopes to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
