19 Persons Abducted By Gunmen In Niger State, Christian Cleric Killed


By John Imade (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – About 19 people were reportedly abducted by gunmen in Ogu and Tegina communities in Rafi Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, according to the Chief of Staff to Rafi LGA Chairman, Mohammed Mohammed.

Mohammed, who confirmed the incident to Channels Television on Monday, said he had to make calls to some residents of the affected communities for more information on the incident.

Recounting the incident, a resident of Ogu, Kamal Wayam, said that the armed men invaded the community on Sunday morning on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically into the air, ransacked people’s houses and stole whatever valuable they could lay their hands on and abducted four members of one family, while in a similar attack on Tegina community, 16 persons were abducted.

Elsewhere, a pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Jeremiah Ibrahim, was killed by gunmen in Chukuba community in Shiroro LGA.
