2023 Presidency: Zoning To The South-East Is Not Necessary, Other Regions Deserve A Shot, Says Fayemi

By Nkoli Opara (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following widespread clamour for the 2023 Presidency to be zoned to the South-East Region, Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, says zoning is not ideal in a multi-ethnic society.

According to Fayemi, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, despite the merit in the argument of those clamoring for the Presidency to be zoned to the South-East come 2023, he was of the opinion that the most qualified Nigerians should be allowed to vie for the country’s leadership positions.

Fayemi added that he saw no reason why leadership position should be zoned to a particular part of the country when there are several capable people from all parts of the country who should be given room to participate in the primaries come 2023.
