Zabarmari Massacre: Senate Demands The Sack Of Service Chiefs

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Senate has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Service Chiefs and replace them with more competent people.

Former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima raised the motion at Tuesday’s plenary, during deliberations  on the worsening security situation in the country, with emphasis on the recent massacre of 43 farmer in Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents, pointing out the need for President Buhari to replace the security chiefs with more competent and knowledgeable officers.

Other recommendations made by the lawmakers are that President Buhari should overhaul the entire security architecture, investigate allegations of widespread corruption and leakages within the security establishment, architecture, recruitment of 10,000 civilian JTF to complement the efforts of the armed forces, the use of mercenaries, and to explore a multilateral partnership with Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
