Recession: Time For Nigeria To Stop Borrowing – Atiku

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar has called on the Nigerian government to stop borrowing in order to stem the ongoing economic recession.

The former VP disclosed this via series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle, in a statement titled, ‘We Must Exit This Recession With Precision’, in reaction to the country’s slide into another economic recession, the second time in five years.

He advised that the country must stop borrowing, except for essential needs, in order not to worsen the country’s already high debt overhang, by defaulting, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to cut the cost of governance.
