#Manufacturing: Ikpeazu Sends Delegation To Turkey, Bangladesh, Plans Establishment Of Garment Factory

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – As furtherance of his commitment to the speedy industrialization of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has dispatched a team of garment entrepreneurs to Bangladesh, Vietnam and Turkey for feasibility studies ahead of a projected establishment of an ultramodern garment factory in the State.

Ikpeazu, who disclosed this via series of tweets on his verified handle, added that the garment factory when operational, will complement the shoe factory already established in the State.

“Further to my industrialization agenda, I have dispatched a team to Bangladesh, Vietnam and Turkey respectively on exploratory visit for the planned ultra modern garment factory we are opening soon in Abia to complement the already established Shoe Factory.

“I am poised as ever to make Aba the fashion capital of Nigeria with automated shoe and garment factories producing in tens of thousands daily. That’s jobs, jobs and more jobs for our people,” he wrote.

POTENTIAL IMPACT:  The move will afford the delegates room to study the processes of garment manufacturing in the target countries, build their capacity and equip them with the requisite skills to operative the proposed garment factory in the state.
