Stop Criticizing Our Jumbo Salaries, Throw Us Out In 2023 If You Feel We Failed You, Senate President Tells Nigerians

By Amaechi Idumuebor (AGENDAWATCHDOG)- Senate President Ahmad Lawan has charged Nigerians to stop members of the 9th National Assembly from returning in 2023 if they feel dissatisfied with their stewardship.

Lawan threw this challenge on Friday while declaring open a retreat put together for top management staff of the National Assembly in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), saying that the onus rested on Nigerians to make sure the current legislators were not returned to office in the next elections if they failed their constituencies.

The Senate President was of the view that this should be the best option rather than endlessly agitating for the scrapping of the parliament and engaging in unnecessary debates over the supposed jumbo salaries and allowances enjoyed by the lawmakers.
