Lekki Massacre: Aisha Yesufu Flays Army’s Insistence That Only Blank Bullets Were Fired At Protesters

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATHDOG) – Fiery activist, Aisha Yesufu, has blasted a statement credited to the Nigerian Army that only blank bullets were fired at protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.

Reacting on her verified Twitter handle, Yesufu faulted the Army’s claim that only blank bulles were fired at the protesters, wondering how the blanks could have killed protesters.

Writing on her Twitter page, she asked: “Who summoned the military that attacked us on the 20th of October 2020?

“Does that mean our @HQNigerianArmy is so cheap and unprofessional that they can be summoned without proper documentation? What the freaking hell!”

Recall that the Nigerian Army had on Saturday, while appearing before the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution, refuted allegations that its soldiers used live ammunition on peaceful End SARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State.

According to Brig.-Gen. Ahmed Taiwo, Commander of the 81 Division, Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, who made the submission at the panel, only blank bullets were fired into the air to disperse protesters, adding that there would have been more casualties if the 600m live ammunition normally used by the military were used on the protesting youths.
