FG’s Already Working To Empower Youths, Create Jobs, Alleviate Poverty – Lai Mohammed

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has disclosed that efforts already being made by the Federal Government to address the challenges of youth unemployment and poverty.

Mohammed revealed this on Friday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, where he added that the government’s determination to alleviate the sordid conditions of Nigerian youths led to the establishment of the National Youth Fund, a N75billion fund (an aspect of the N2.3trillion Economic Sustainability Plan to cushion the effect of COVID-19) which is meant to give opportunities to the younger generation to achieve their dreams.

The minister said that the government was already working towards empowering the youths before the #EndSARS protests, listing interventions such as the setting up of the Micro Medium and Small Enterprises Survival Fund on owners of small businesses, as some of the efforts made by the government to alleviate he plight of the youths.
