Youth Empowerment: Wike Approves Employment Of 5,000 Youths


(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has approved the employment of 5,000 youths into the state’s civil service.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Employment Generation and Empowerment, Mr. Sylvanus Nwankwo, following a cabinet meeting in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Wednesday, the youths to be employed must not be more than 35 years, adding that there were existing vacancies in the civil service for engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, technicians and other fields.

POTENTIAL IMPACT: The mas recruitment drive undertaken by the youth-friendly Wike administration will check the rate of unemployment and youth restiveness in the state.
