#Empowerment: Kebbi Initiates Youth Empowerment Programmes

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Kebbi State Government plans to initiate multiple youth empowerment programmes, according to the Commissioner for youths and Sports Development in the state, Alhaji Gidado Kaliyal.

Kaliyal stated this while addressing various youth groups on mutual dialogue, held at the conference room of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development, adding that the incumbent administration was working assiduously towards strengthening the capacity the youths to become productive members of the society.

Towards achieving the above stated, the government will be providing useful information for the teaming youths to tap into al available grants, empowerment programmes, agriculture loans from international donors, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), alongside other donor agencies.

Present at the event were: The Commissioner for Information Communication Technology, ICT, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Magoro, Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Mahmud Warrah, Majority Leader, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Faruq Aliyu Nasarawa and Alhaji Shehu Mashal, the Chairman of Jega LGA who double as the state ALGON Chairman as well as the Deputy National President of ALGON.

POTENTIAL IMPACT: The proposed empowerment programmes are very timely as they will help equip the youths with the skills and resources to become productive members of the society, create more jobs via the employment opportunities that would be generated from the new businesses, and curtail youth restiveness in the state, as more youths would be taken off the streets
