CSR: Dangote Cement Invests N4 Billion In Development Projects In Ogun Host Communities


(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – 14 host communities in Yewa land in Ogun are currently benefiting from projects worth N4. Billion, courtesy of Dangote Cement Plc’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, according to the company, which made this known via  a statement signed by the Media and Community Relations Manager of Dangote Industries Limited, Mr Francis Awowole-Browne.

According to the statement, since Dangote Cement commenced operations  in Ibese, in the last eight years, it has been involved in the construction and repairs of roads, building of blocks of classrooms, construction and repairs of healthcare facilities, provision of boreholes,  provision of electricity transformers, among others.

A sum total of the projects, according to the company are as follows: 40 classrooms, three health centres, 22 boreholes, three transformers totalling N4.1bn; while various ongoing projects, such as 18 classrooms, four roads, one borehole, one health center and five transformers are estimated to be in the region of N278m.

POTENTIALI IMPACT: Dangote’s CSR initiatives in Ogun State will no doubt complement the state government’s development efforts in education, infrastructure and basic amenities, youth development and engagement et al;  it is a partnership for good governance.
