By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has apologized to Nigerians for the Federal Government’s slow reaction to the demands of #EndSARS agitators.
The VP made his plea via series of tweets on his handle, which read:
“Dear Nigerians, I know that many of you are angry, and understandably so. We could’ve moved faster and for this we are sorry,” he said in a series of tweets on his handle late Friday.
“I fully understand how many young people feel. Many feel that we have been too silent and have simply not done enough. These feelings of frustration are justified.
Proceeding, Osinbajo admitted that several Nigerians had suffered unjustly in the hands of the police, and that it was government’s responsibility to ensure their protection, adding that the protests rocking the country were not just agitations against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), but deep and systemic, assuring that government was taking comprehensive measures to revamp the police force and make it a more effective and responsible law enforcement body.
