#EndSARS: 37 Members Of Defunct SARS Recommended For Dismissal By Police Commission.

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Police Service Commission has recommended the dismissal of 37 members of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) from the service.

According to a Punch news report, the commission disclosed this via a statement issued by its spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani on Friday, adding that 24 ex-SARS operatives will also be prosecuted for professional misconduct.

The statement was the fallout of the Report of the Presidential Panel on Reform of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which was established by the Federal Government in 2018 to reform SARS, the dreaded defunct police unit. The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, Tony Ojukwu, called for a speedy implementation of the panel recommendations, while presenting the report to the PSC Chairman, Musiliu Smith, in Abuja on Friday.
