#OndoDecides2020#: Rotimi Akeredolu Reelected Governor, Vanquishes Jegede, Ajayi, Others


By Lucky Uwakina (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been returned as Governor, following his resounding victory a the gubernatorial poll held on October 10, 2020.

Akeredolu, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, bulldozed his way to victory winning 15 of the 18 local governments in the state.

In a keenly contested electoral duel, Governor Akeredolu polled 292,830 of the total votes cast, while his closest rivals, Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the incumbent Deputy Governor,  Mr Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came second and third in the election with 195,791 and 69,127 votes, respectively.
