COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 118 New Cases, Total Confirmed Cases Now 59, 583


(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria reported 118 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, October 2, 2020, according the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, taking total confirmed cases of the virus in Nigeria to 59, 583.

Breakdown of the 126 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, which are spread across 14 states of the federation, is as follows: Lagos-41 Rivers-19 Osun-17 Nasarawa-13 Kaduna-5 Anambra-5 Edo-3 Ogun-3 Kwara-3 Ondo-3 Katsina-2 Niger-2 Plateau-1 Akwa Ibom-1.

Out of the total of 59,583 confirmed cases of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, 51, 308 have been treated and discharged while 1,113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, since the outbreak of the pandemic.
