Postponed Strike: APC Lauds FG, Organised Labour On Agreement

By Lucky Uwakina (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded the suspension of the nationwide strike proposed by labour, consequent to the agreement between the federal government and the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) on the increase in electricity tariff and the price of fuel.

APC’s position on the matter was made known via a statement by its deputy national publicity secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena, in which the party said that the development was instructive and indicative of the people centered, humane tilt of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration, adding that the development was a victory for the Nigerian masses.

“The federal government is temporarily suspending the application of the cost-reflective electricity tariff adjustments by DISCOs to allow for an all-inclusive and independent review of the power sector operations, evidence of the government’s pro-people stance.
