-.The Federal government and the Nigerian Labour Congress have reached an agreement on electricity tariff and the planned industrial action has been suspended. The new agreement, according to the Minister of Labour and employment (State) Festus Keyamo involves the suspension of the new electricity tariff hike for two weeks

2-.Mr Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has commended the decision of labour leaders to suspend their planned nationwide strike scheduled to have commenced on Monday. NLC and TUC on Monday morning agreed to suspend the strike after an agreement was reached with the Federal Government.

3-.The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has come under attack for suspending planned nationwide strike over the increase in petrol and electricity tariff.NLC and TUC agreed to suspend the strike on Monday morning after meeting with the federal government.

4-.Mali’s interim President Bah Ndaw has named former Malian Foreign Minister Moctar Ouane as prime minister. The appointment on Sunday opens the way for the country’s neighbours to lift sanctions imposed after its August military coup.

5-.French President Emmanuel Macron has accused Lebanon’s leaders of “collective betrayal” for their failure to form a government in the wake of the huge explosion at the Beirut port in August. At a rare news conference devoted to Lebanon on Sunday, Macron slammed the Lebanese political elite for prioritising their selfish interests over those of their country.

6-.Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday held a meeting behind closed doors with the Governor of Bauchi State Mohammed Bala. The meeting took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja with Mohammed who is the Chairman of the PDP 2020 Election Review Committee, telling Channels Television after the discussion that the group is working to galvanize founding fathers of the country towards the promotion of good governance in the nation.

7-.Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden accused Donald Trump Sunday of rushing to install a new Supreme Court justice to “eliminate the entire Affordable Care Act,” known as Obamacare, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump has nominated Amy Coney Barrett, a darling of conservatives for her religious views, to replace the late liberal justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a lifetime seat on the top court, potentially impacting some of the most partisan issues in America, from abortion to gun rights to health care.

8-.Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale was taken to a Florida hospital after his wife told officers he threatened to commit suicide, media reports said. Parscale, an imposing and outspoken figure, was replaced as campaign manager in July — just four months ahead of November’s presidential election — when Donald Trump was sinking in the polls.

9-.Jamie Vardy hit a hat-trick as Leicester exposed Manchester City’s defensive flaws with a stunning 5-2 win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s side went ahead after just four minutes thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s thunderous strike. But that was as good as it got for City as Vardy tore Guardiola’s creaky defence to pieces with his pace and superb movement.

10-.Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick refused to blame fatigue or his players for Sunday’s shock 4-1 defeat at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga which ended the European champions’ 23-match winning streak. Having needed 120 minutes before to beat Sevilla 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup showdown in Budapest on Thursday, Bayern lost for the first time in ten months, but Flick refused to blame his side’s tired limbs.
