COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 136 New Cases, Total Confirmed Cases Now 58, 198

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria on Saturday recorded 136 new cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), taking total confirmed cases of the virus in the country to 58, 198.

Breakdown of the 136 new cases of COVID-19, which are spread across 16 states of the federation, is as follows: Lagos (41), Ogun (27), Rivers (19), Abia (10), Oyo (6), Plateau (6), Bauchi (5), Ondo (5), Ekiti (4), Kaduna (4), Edo (3), Ebonyi (2), Bayelsa (1), Delta (1), Osun (1), and Yobe (1).

Out of the total 58,198 cases of COVID-19 so far recorded across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, 49,722 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1,106 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the virus.
