Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary Celebration Will Be Low-Key – FG

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary will be low-key, according to the Federal Government.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, during a media briefing on Thursday, in Abuja, where he added that the decision was connected to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced nations across the world to adopt safety protocols to curb its spread.

Mohammed further stated that the celebration will last for a period of one year and end September 31, 2021, with events staggered during this period to celebrate Nigeria’s diamond jubilee.
