#COVID-19: FG Commences Distribution Of Over N10 Billion Worth Of Palliatives

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Federal Government has announced its plans to begin the distribution of palliatives worth N10.9 billion to households and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises across the country.

This was disclosed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, while delivering a speech via video-message, on the first day of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly Debate, where he said that the exercise was part of his administration’s efforts to alleviate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable Nigerians.

The President also pointed out that his administration had set up a N500 billion fiscal stimulus package and sustained distribution of humanitarian and social interventions to poor and vulnerable households, while the country’s apex financial regulatory institution, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had also inaugurated a N3.5 trillion-stimulus package to prop up the manufacturing sector and ease import substitution.
