“Let’s Sheath Our Swords”, Obaseki Waves Olive Branch At Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu, Other Political Foes

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The re-elected Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has called on his political foes in the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to sheath their swords in the interest of the peace and development of the state.

The governor said this on Tuesday while receiving his certificate of return at the INEC office in Aduwawa, Benin City, where he said there was no need to continue dueling with Adams Oshiomhole, his predecessor and former Chairman of the APC, the flagbearer of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and other members of the opposition, urging them to join his administration in moving the state forward.

Obaseki’s call came in the heels of INEC’s issuance of Certificates of Return to him and his deputy, Phillip Shaibu at the electoral body’s office in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where the National Commissioner, INEC in charge of Edo, Rivers, and Bayelsa, Mrs May Agbmuche-Mbu, while making the presentation commended stakeholders including the security agencies for their role in the smooth conduct of the poll.
