Edo Election: Poll Was Fraught With Many Anomalies – Observer Group

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The integrity of the Sept. 19, 2020 poll has been faulted by an observer group in the just concluded Edo State Governorship election, Intercontinental Leadership Initiative.

According to Mr Stafford Bisong, the Country Head of the organisation, during a press briefing  in Benin on Monday, the use of non-functional card readers in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state, non display of voters’ register five day prelude to the poll, conrary to the stipulation of the Electoral Act,  late arrival of sensitive and non sensitive materials in about 80 per cent of polling units in most polling units, with particular emphasis on Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha and Egor Local Government Areas, made the poll’s outcome untenable.
