#US: There Will Be Consequences If UN Fails To Implement Iran Sanctions – Mike Pompeo

By Amaechi Idumuebor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has warned of consequences if UN sanctions against Iran were not implemented by the member states of the global body.

However, the US position is contrary to those held by its European allies, among which are some of the world’s super powers, who are of the impression that the sanctions are not back and the that America’s procedure is ultra vires.

In Pompeo’s words: “If UN Member States fail to fulfill their obligations to implement these sanctions, the United States is prepared to use our domestic authorities to impose consequences for those failures and ensure that Iran does not reap the benefits of UN-prohibited activity”.
