#EdoDecides2020#: Obaseki Takes Commanding Lead, As INEC Commences Announcement Of Results


(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has taken a significant lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the announcement of results of the Governorship polls conducted in the state on Saturday.

From the results of 13 local governments that have been announced by INEC, as at the time of filing this report, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Godwin Obaseki had won eleven (243,604), while his closest rival, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has two (154,192) out of the thirteen Local Government Areas (LGAs) so far released.

Results from five local government areas are still being expected. 

A breakdown of the votes allotted to Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu from the 13 LGA’ are given below:
